Angelo Alberto, President

Pat BenderAngelo Alberto will serve as the 2008 HTA president. Angelo has been a member of HTA since 1994 and is a former member of the High School Girls Tennis Booster Club. Angelo lives and has his business in Haddonfield. His wife Edie and children Elizabeth, Michael and Olivia all enjoy tennis.

 

Mitch Winkler, Tennis Professional

Mitch WinklerMitch is in his fifteenth year as tennis professional as tennis director of the Haddonfield Tennis Association. Last fall, Mitch coached Paul VI High School to its first ever South Jersey Parochial  A Championship and was selected at the Philadelphia Inquirer's High School Girls Tennis Coach of the Year. 

Bill Brown, Senior Vice President

BILL BROWNBill Brown was the past president of the Haddonfield Tennis Association for seven years. During his term of office he spearheaded the need for the addition of a fifth court until it was installed.

He is a real estate sales associate with Prudential Fox and Roach in Haddonfield with 33 years experience.

Besides his accomplishments in tennis community, Bill was named "The Citizen of the Year in Haddonfield" after serving in many community organizations such as President of the Haddonfield Arts and Crafts League ( now the Markeim Art Center) Home and school president for two years, co-founder of the Haddonfield soccer league, coached in youth football and Little League, as well as originating the youth tennis play with the HTA.  

John Duffy, Vice President

John DuffyPlaying tennis on a frosty wintry morning, stealing a spring like day from winter's icy grip; there's nothing like it. Working up a pungent sweat after  extended volleys, great camaraderie, competition and child-like fun is the essence of HTA tennis on Saturday mornings. I also enjoy traveling, guitar playing, others' unique cultures, languages, hoops, kidz; but most of all, time my wife, Deb, and our two youngins.

Fred and Nancy Chorpita 

FRED NANCY CHORPITAFred is a retired Actuary. Nancy is a retired computer systems person. In their "retirement", they operate the Haddonfield Inn, a bed and breakfast, on West End Avenue in historic Haddonfield. Fred is active with Tavistock  and 65 Club for golf, and  for tennis, the Haddon Field Club. In addition to golf and tennis, Nancy and Fred have season tickets to the 76ers, Flyers, Phillies, and Eagles. They are willing to sell their tickets whenever there is a conflict.

Fred chairs the tourism committee and is on the board of directors of the Haddonfield Business and Professional Association. Whenever there is some free time, Fred likes to get out and fish or hunt. Nancy and Fred have 4 children, one grand daughter and recently was blessed with a grand son. 

Hank Rouland, Webmaster

Hank Rouland Graduated from Virginia Tech as Electrical Engineer. Presently retired from RCA/General Electric participating in the development radar systems for the Army, combat weapon system for the Navy, and satellite systems for weather and Global Positioning Systems. Has a millionaire’s family, two boys and two girls.  Best one line description of me written by my loving wife, “pasta lover, tennis addict, welded to his computer, knob twiddler, white socks and sneakers, never owned a tux, old movies fan.”  With regard to the tennis addiction, major efforts:

Pat Bender, Past President

Pat BenderPatrick Bender has been a resident of Haddonfield since 1996 and recently assumed the position of president of the HTA. Patrick is married to Raynel Otero and they have two children who attended the Haddonfield Memorial High School and now have moved on to college and the work environment. Raynel is an administrator in the college of Social Studies at the University of Pennsylvania and Patrick is a scientist working at the Coriell Institute for Medical Research in Camden, NJ. At the Institute, Dr. Bender supervises a team of scientists working on problems in Human Genetics, cell aging, and breast cancer. In his spare time, he likes to bicycle, work with wood, and play tennis (if you could call what he plays tennis). His principle qualification as president is he can chew gum and play tennis at the same time. Nevertheless, he appreciates the opportunity to serve the community and promote tennis in the greater Camden county.
